Tribute to the 2017 ESA Guideline on PSA
The Adult Procedural Sedation Analgesia Simulation Masterclass consists of full-scale patient-simulator with the necessary anaesthesia equipment.
Target Audience
The course is open to ESA full members who speak and write English fluently. This course is aimed at physicians or teams of physicians and nurses.
Learning Objectives
The programme contains minimum theoretical lectures. Participants are able to perform procedural sedation in a simulated environment. They will observe patients clinically, use various monitoring devices and finally apply the current available guidelines to these experiences.
Participants are able to
- Apply procedural sedation using different approaches
- Recognise complications during procedural sedation
- Judge on the value of various monitoring technologies
- Recognise the additional value of capnography during sedation

By car
- Highway A60
- Exit Mainz-Hechtsheim-West
- At the 2nd turn left (entrance D at the industrial park Hechtsheim)
- After about 800 metres the Wernher-von-Braun-Straße turn right at a dead end
By public transport
- From Central Station by tram 50 or 53 to the stop "Carl-Zeiss-Straße". Go to the Carl-Zeiss-Strasse, at the 2nd Turn left into Wernher-von-Braun-Str.
- From the main station take the bus line 9 and get off at "Johannes-Kepler-Strasse". At the stop Wernher-von-Braun-road branches off a dead end.

- The registration fee is not refundable
- “Medical/exceptional circumstances” please send justification to smc@esahq.org no later than 7 days before the start of the event
- Upon approval by the ESA, 100€ administration fee will be deducted from refund
- In case of emergency, any cancellation must be communicated to the ESA Secretariat
- Please be aware that all costs incurred for transportation, accommodation etc. are not covered by the ESA in case this Masterclass is cancelled, we suggest that you take out a cancellation policy when booking flights and accommodation.
